NEW DELHI: Salman Bashir, High Commissioner-designate of Pakistan to India arrived here on Wednesday. Salman Bashir joined Foreign Service of Pakistan in February 1976. During his distinguished diplomatic career he held important positions in the government, including Foreign Secretary of Pakistan (from May 2008 to March 2012), Ambassador of Pakistan to China and Mongolia (from 2005 to April 2008), Additional Foreign Secretary (2003-05), Ambassador of Pakistan to Denmark and Lithuania (from July 1999 to February 2003), On his arrival, he was received at the airport by a representative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Deputy High Commissioner Babar Amin and officers of the Pakistan High Commission.
