Lahore:Member National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said that 70 percent population of Pakistan comprise youth who are the future of the country. He said that Quaid Pakistan Muslim League-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has vowed to strengthen the hands of the youth so that Pakistan could emerge as a strong and prosperous country.
He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony to see off 39 topper students of the country who left on a 4-week study tour of the leading universities of three European countries at Lahore Airport today. Senior Advisor to Chief Minister, Senator Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Minister for Education Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Provincial Ministers, Dr. Saeed Elahi, Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Khawaja Salman Rafiq, Imran Nazir, Arifa Khalid, Saba Sadiq, Zakia Shahnawaz, Commissioner Lahore, Secretary Higher Education, Secretary Schools and District Coordination Officer Lahore were also present on the occasion. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the students and said that load-shedding has created a difficult situation in the country due to which labourers, farmers, industrialists as well as the common people have come out on the streets. He said that every citizen is deeply concerned over the situation and there is need for a strong commitment that unemployment, hunger and poverty will be eliminated. He expressed the hope that out of 39 students leaving on the study tour some will become doctors, engineers and scientists and will ensure a glorious future for the country. He said that the money to be spent on the tour of the students will be repaid to the country in the form of their service to the masses after completion of their education. The delegation comprised 39 students out of which 14 were boys and 25 girls. Thirty-three students belonged to Punjab while one topper each from Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Azad Kashmir, Baltistan and Islamabad had been selected on merit. These toppers will visit prestigious universities including Oxford University, London School of Economic, Manchester University, Leeds University, Glasgow University in England, University of Berlin, Munich University and Heidelberg University in Germany besides Istanbul University and Qasaria University in Turkey. The delegation will also visit the best laboratories of the world while it will also be conducted on a tour of historical sites of these countries.
