Lahore:DCO Noor ul Amin Mengal has constituted special monitoring teams for checking of generators installed on tube-wells of WASA in the city for making ensure the provision of continuous supply of water to the citizens.
DCO said that tube-wells should be run with generators during load-shedding hours and 4 petrol pumps have been already allocated for continuous supply of petrol and diesel. He said that monitoring teams will work under the supervision of DMO and these teams will check 110 generators installed on tube-wells and submit their daily report to DCO office.
He said that it is not a normal situation and we have to deal with by adopting emergency measures and there is no question of negligence and any negligence will be strictly punished. He said that we have evolved a mechanism to check the misuse and theft of diesel and petrol on generators and any person involved in this malpractice will be treated accordingly.
He said that special teams will monitor the performance of staff and actions are being taken against absent staff. DCO said that CDGL is trying its best to ensure continuous supply of water to the citizens and we are utilizing all available resources in this regard. He said that water tankers will also send in those areas where we do not have generators on tube-wells or shortage of water. He said that complaints about shortage of water will be treated on urgent basis.
