Center to Provide funds for Greater Thal Canal :Secretary Irrigation Punjab demands

The Secretary Irrigation Punjab has said that Rainee Canal (Sindh Province), Kachhi Canal (Balochistan Province) and Greater Thal Canal (Punjab Province) are being implemented by WAPDA under federally funded PSDP.

He said that Greater Thal Canal Project which pertains to Punjab Province, Irrigation Department Punjab has been vigorously pursuing WAPDA for expediting implementation of the project but due to lack of funding by the Federal Government under PSDP, the project is not being fully completed by WAPDA. Federal Government needs to provide necessary funding for early completion of the project, he added.
