Lahore:A group of business owners from the platform of American Business Forum (ABF) visited the office of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) and held meeting with senior officials. American Business Forum formed in 2008, is an organization consisting of US based companies and franchises.
Talking to the Vice Chairman PBIT Dr. Miftah Ismail, President of American Business Forum, Saleem Ghauri discussed various avenues of business in Punjab for the American firms. He said that currently there exists over USD 1 billion of investment made by American based firms in Pakistan. He said that existing businesses would witness expansion and new business could happily be invested in Pakistan provided our negative image is somehow mitigated on the national level and the right picture of Pakistan is reached to the people by utilizing the power of International media.
VC PBIT, Dr. Miftah Ismail at this occasion assured assistance of PBIT to ABF and their member companies and encouraged expansion of their existing investment in Punjab and discussed ways to attract new investment from USA in Punjab. To further facilitate the functions of ABF member businesses, VC PBIT announced a focal authority from PBIT for looking into the matters arising from law and order situation for ABF and urged the members to take initiatives in educating sector and assured Punjab government’s full support in this regard. Further to this meeting, VC PBIT would soon also be meeting with ABF member firms in the agriculture and energy sectors.
