Lahore:Health Department, Government of Punjab in collaboration with World Health Organization (WHO), NDMA and NHEPR, is going to organize a one-day planning workshop for Provincial Health Preparedness and response mechanism for 2012 Monsoon/Floods on 25 May in Lahore. Dr. Martinez Jorge, WHO Chief of Operations (EHA), Islamabad, Secretary Health Punjab, DG Health Punjab, DG PDMA, DG Rescue 1122, EDO’s Health, DEOs/DDMOs, District Emergency Officers, Rescue 1122 from 16 districts of Punjab including Mianwali, Khushab, Jhang, Layyah, Bhakkar, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Sargodha and Rawalpindi would attend the subject workshop.
The presentations will be delivered by the representatives of PDMA and Health Department, Government of Punjab on “An Overview of Monsoon Contingency Planning Scenarios for 2012 and Expected Health Consequences” and “District level presentations on Monsoon Contingency Planning”. During the workshop, WHO officials would also represent Health Cluster Monsoon Contingency Response Plan in the workshop.
