Corruption is the root cause of the price-hike:Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore:Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that corruption is the root cause of the price-hike, load-shedding, poverty and unemployment in the country. He said that the lust of wealth and plunder of national resources by the rulers have caused irreparable loss to national economy. He said that the problems and hardships of poor people have tremendously increased during the last four years. He said loot and corruption of Ali Baba 40 Thieves has caused so much loss to Railways, PIA, WAPDA, Steel Mills and other national institutions that they are unable to provide any service to the masses. He said that it is necessary to get rid of the rulers of Islamabad who are corrupt and inefficient and have no respect for judiciary, to save the country from the existing crises. He said that if given an opportunity to serve the people, such policies and projects will be introduced under the leadership of President Pakistan Muslim League-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as would change the destiny of the people and usher in an era of prosperity in the country.

Talking to assembly members of various districts here today, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that loot and plunder was rampant in the name of development projects while nepotism was promoted and merit was flouted in the dictatorial era. He said that government institutions were destroyed through recruitment of inefficient persons on political basis. He said that corrupt mafia with the help of worst rulers of Islamabad, is once again engaged in the loot of national resources and decisions of judiciary are also being trampled. He said that it will be devastating for the country if such rulers as attach no importance to the law or constitution, stayed in power any longer. He said that these elements are fully exposed to the people and their day of accountability is very near. He said that time will soon come when darkness and despondency will be removed and an era of progress and development will usher in.

The Chief Minister further said that politics of Pakistan Muslim League-N is aimed at bringing the poor and oppressed masses into national mainstream. He said that Punjab government has diverted national resources towards uplift and provision of basic amenities to the deprived and unprivileged segments of the society. He said that mega projects have been executed especially in less-developed areas during the last four years which have benefitted the common man. He said that provision of education and health facilities, supply of potable water, welfare of labourers, shelter to the shelterless, prosperity of farmers and creation of job opportunities are the priorities of Punjab government. He said that reforms have been introduced in education, health and agriculture and social sectors for providing relief to the common man. He said that elected representatives should strive for the solution of people’s problems and play their role for the timely and transparent completion of development projects. Those who met the Chief Minister included Rana Muhammad Iqbal Harna, Awais Qasim Khan, Zafar Iqbal Nagra and Saiful Malook Khokhar.
