North Waziristan incident is highly deplorable : Liaqat Baloch

Lahore : Acting Ameer of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has termed the North Waziristan incident as highly deplorable and said such a terrible event during the visit of the Chinese Vice President to the country raised many questions.

Talking to newsmen at his residence, he said that the country had offered huge sacrifices for controlling terrorism and restoration of peace in FATA.  

He called for a thorough enquiry into the incident by a judicial commission and stressed that efforts should be made to normalize the situation through a national Jirga in Khyber P.  

The JI acting Ameer said that FATA had already been merged with Khyber P. and the parliament had granted it constitutional, judicial and political rights. However, the new districts were being deprived of democracy, local bodies and social development. He said that the people had the right of protest under the constitution.   

He said that a few days ago, the government and the state, had approved a constitutional amendment bill with the cooperation of Mohsin Dawar.

Liaqat Baloch further said that the tsunami of price hike and unemployment was swallowing the masses while the IMF progrmame was pushing the country’s agriculture, trade and industry towards destruction.

He said the JI peaceful rally in the Punjab capital on June sixteen would be the beginning of the public march against the government policies and the IMF slavery.

Meanwhile, the National Labour Federation President Shamsur Rahman Swati and a central leader of the Milli Yakjehti Council Pir Syed Haroon Gilani, called on the JI acting chief and discussed with him the latest situation in the country. .
