President Arif Alvi attends 27th medal awarding ceremony at Aiwan Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan

Lahore : President Dr. Arif Alvi Friday said that Pakistan
was created after great trials and tribulations, and the soil was
moist with the blood of our elders.

Addressing the 27th medal awarding ceremony for the workers of
Pakistan Movement at Aiwan Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan here, he said
the pain and pangs of our elders for the creation of Pakistan was an
asset of the nation.

The president said, he had personal experience of the Pakistan
Movement through his father who revealed to him all the details of the
movement, adding that he had met many of the leaders of the movement.
He said that separation of East Pakistan was a huge loss, asserting
his father cried on the cession of Pakistan.
Sharing his childhood experiences, he said, he had always defended the
creation of Pakistan although his maternal aunt had always called it a
wrong decision.

The president said that he was among the few who had relatives in
India. He said, he always felt proud of being a Pakistani among his
Indian relatives, adding that Indians are sarcastically called them to
leave India and go to Pakistan.

Dr. Arif Alvi said that Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah knew that
people of his country would become his voice.
