PFA arranges awareness camp for autism spectrum disorder children

Lahore : The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in collaboration with Amin Maktab School arranged an awareness camp for the parents of special children in connection to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day, on Wednesday.

A 20-member team of PFA Nutrition experts provided consultancy to the children, teachers and their parents about the role of nutrition in autism. The authority has distributed booklets and nutrition charts among participants as well as arranged special activities for children to engage them like painting and colouring games. While, nutrition experts said that food can plan an important role to control the sugar level, eyesight and mental health of autism patients.

On that occasion, PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman also distributed colouring boxes and fruits among children. Speaking with the participants, DG said that parents of autistic children are great because looking after the children in such cases is not easy. He further said that we can reduce the effect of any diseases through consuming the best nutrition. He said that children are a gift from GOD and their health is our responsibility.

Ameen Maktab School Director and Principal appreciated Punjab Food Authority for arranging a camp for special children who are facing autism spectrum disorder. They also said that such camps play an important role for parents to take care of their children.
