Meeting held to make Lahore adulteration free food city

Lahore : An important meeting chaired by Minister for Food and Punjab Minister for Livestock was held at PFA Headquarter here on Saturday. It was attended by Punjab Food Authority Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman and heads of concerned departments.

In the meeting, important decisions have been taken about to make Lahore as Model City (adulteration free food city) according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan. All concerning departments has been directed to the implementation of the plan.

On that occasion, Minister Food Sami Ullah Chaudhary said that after completion of making this model city this plan will be spread across the province. He said that PM of Pakistan’s vision of provision of adulteration free milk is our mission on which we are doing work day and night. While Minister Livestock and Dairy Development Sardar Husnain Bahadur Dreshak said that to ban loose milk is the only way to get rid of this mafia and would be beneficial directly for farmers.

Muhammad Usman said that pasteurization units would be established in the model city for the provision of pasteurized milk. He said that milk would be analyzed before packaging on that to make sure that milk was pure. He said that the plan would be executed after completing consultation with all departments on it. The director general said that PFA will start soon a series of public awareness campaign concerning pasteurization law and other regulations across Punjab. He further said that pasteurization law is a law of prosperity for farmers, the safety of public health and the elimination of milk adulteration. He said that loose milk would be banned completely by 2022 and only pasteurized milk would be available only in this model city. PFA will start the work after completion of planning on it in collaboration with all concerned departments.
