Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed attends annual sports day at Government College of Science

Lahore : Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has said that sports inculcate the passion of sportsman spirit in youth along with ensuring balanced mental and physical growth of their bodies. The passion to accept defeat along with success gives them the necessary courage to deal with the emerging challenges of their practical life.

While addressing the annual sports day at Government College of Science Wahdat Road Lahore, Mahmood ur Rasheed said that sports are very pivotal in developing a healthy and balanced society. Punjab government is following a comprehensive policy to promote sports in educational institutions, he added.

He asked the students to pay attention to co-curricular activities to promote their skills and intellectual abilities. The country where sports fields are filled with players, the hospitals remain empty because of healthy generations. He said that sports also promote the positive passions of competition, leadership and self-control.

Later, the minister distributed prizes among the winning players.
