Mian Aslam Iqbal attends Govt. Postgraduate College for Women Samanabad annual sports day

Lahore : Minister for Industries & Trade, Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that healthy minds create healthy society and sports activities play pivotal role in this regard. Sports activities helps to eliminate extremism and negative thinking. He said that Punjab government is patronizing sports activities in the province and a strategy has been evolved to restore sports activities in govt. schools. Women played very important role in all fields of life including sports.

Provincial Minister expressed these views, while addressing the ceremony of annual sports at Govt. Postgraduate College for Women Samanabad, here today.

He said that sports help in mental growth and creates spirit of tolerance. He said that promotion of sports is need of the hour and Punjab government has taken solid steps in this regard. He said that children are our future and government is providing all out opportunities of curriculum and extra-curriculum to them.

He said youth will improve the soft image of the country by using their constructive abilities in every walk of life. Competition trend is also enhance among the youth by holding sports competitions. Women are the half of our population and development targets cannot be achieved without their participation. Punjab government is launching soft loan programmes for the skilled youth and women are also included in this programme.

Provincial Minister said that Govt. Postgraduate College for Women Samanabad is playing important role for imparting education to the daughters of the nation and it is our responsibility to solve the problems of the college.

Later, Provincial Minister attended the annual prize distribution ceremony of a private school in Gulshan-e-Ravi.

While addressing the ceremony, Provincial Minister said that education is the only way to move forward and PTI government is attaching top most priority to education.

Provincial Minister congratulated the position holders and urged upon them to work hard for the materialization of their parents’ dreams.

Provincial Minister distributed certificates, cash prizes and trophies among the position holders.
