Parliament to play its role for revival of railways: Senator Asad Junejo

Lahore : Senate Standing Committee on Railways Chairman Senator Muhammad Asad Ali Khan Junejo said on Tuesday that parliament would play its role in the revival of railways.

Addressing a Committee meeting here at Pakistan Railways headquarters, he assured the PR management that the committee would help railways in its improvement.

He said that wherever the committee was needed, it would be ready to work for the railways, adding that railways would never be declined.
“The railways is a big organisation and it should not be weakened,” he added.

Talking about the importance of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for railways, Junejo hoped the impact of the CPEC would be marvellous and railways would be modernised.

Earlier, Divisional Superintendent Workshops Ghulam Qasim briefed the committee about the working, issues and needs of the workshops.
Senator Brig (R) John Kenneth Williams, member of the committee was also present in the meeting.
After the meeting, the members of the committee visited the Railways workshops.
