AFP President Maj-Gen (R) Akram Sahi called on Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor

Lahore : Athletics Federation of Pakistan (AFP) President Maj-Gen (retd) Akram Sahi called on Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar at National Hockey Stadium on Monday.

Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti and Chief Consultant SBP Shahid Faqeer Virk were also present on this occasion.

All the three dignitaries discussed the promotion of athletics in the Punjab province during the meeting.

Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti on this occasion said Punjab govt, under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, is committed to promote the sports culture across the province. “Punjab has plenty of sports talent and we will utilize all resources to nurture this potential,” he said.

Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said: “Sports Board Punjab is focusing to promote sports among young generation and in this regard sincere efforts are being made throughout the province. We also organized athletics camp at Lahore as part of our 7-Game Coaching and Training Camps under the supervision of qualified coaches”.

AFP President Maj-Gen (retd) Akram Sahi thanked Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar for making effective efforts for the promotion of athletics in the province. “The holding of athletics camp and new tartan track at Punjab Stadium are notable measures for the promotion of athletics in the province,” he added.

Meanwhile, Development Advisor USAID/American Consulate on Youth Haroon Raheem also met with Punjab Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti at his office.
