International teams to play in Pakistan :

Lahore : Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said that the security situation has improved to a great extent in the country and the environment is quite suitable for international teams to play in Pakistan; he expressed these views while talking to media at the prize distribution ceremony of First Cannon Foam Challenge Cup One-day Club Tournament at LCCA ground on Thursday.

President Pakistan Athletics Federation Maj-Gen (retd) Akram Sahi, Director Sports Hafeez Bhatti, President LCCA Shahraiz Khan Rokhri, Test cricketer Shahid Nazir, Rao Iftikhar, Test umpire Mian Aslam, Wasif Zaman, President Golden Star Cricket Club and a large number of cricket players, officials and spectators were also present on this occasion.

DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar was the chief guest at prize distribution ceremony. He awarded medals to runners team and had a photograph with the participating players.

Earlier, Director General Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar and former Pakistan captain and Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq watched the match for some time.

DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar said Pakistan’s standing in sports is improving day by day. “International sports teams should play in Pakistan without any hesitation”.

DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar further said Punjab govt is taking effective measures for the improvement of sports. “Revival of international sports in the country is our top priority,” he maintained.

DG Sports Punjab Nadeem Sarwar appreciated game of both the finalist teams. He also witnessed net practice for some time at LCCA ground.
