First time Mehfil-e-Milad held in Punjab Assembly

Lahore :  Mehfil-e-Milad (ﷺ) was held at Punjab Assembly for the first time in the history here today (Tuesday) in which Professor Dr A. R. Khalid delivered the keynote address.

The officers and employees of the Punjab Assembly attended this event. After recitation from the Holy Quran, Naat Khawan Mehboob Ahmad Hamdani recited the Naat-e-Rasool (ﷺ). Throughout the Milad, slogans of Allah o Akbar and Darood Sharif were raised continuously.

Addressing the function Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that in the 90 years history of Punjab Assembly Mehfil-e-Milad has been organized for the first time, with the special blessings of Allah I have earned this distinction. He said love and following the teachings of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) is integral part of our faith.

He said learn to forgive the creatures of Allah and actively participated in the welfare works as this is the Seerat of our Holy Prophet (ﷺ). I have always prayed to Allah to save me from proudness. He said according to the Holy Quran, life of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) is the best example for the Muslims. The Speaker said that we all should work for the creatures of Allah which pleases Him.

Talking about immortality of the world, the Speaker said that history is witnessed that even the kings have departed from this world empty hand. He said when a person submits himself to Almighty Allah, His blessings start showering on him.

Chief Guest of the Mehfil-e-Milad Professor Dr A. R. Khalid in his address apprised the audience about blessings of the Darood Sharif. He said Ch Pervaiz Elahi is fortunate that Almighty Allah has blessed him with this good work in the Punjab Assembly.

Prior to the address of the Speaker, Assistant Security Officer of the Punjab Assembly Muhammad Maqbool Faani recited verses of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, PRO of the Speaker Punjab Assembly Abdul Qahar Rashid acted as the Stage Secretary and afterwards, Qari Khalid Mahmood led the prayers for security and solidarity of the country.
