Athar Ali Khan appointed as executive director of Al-Hamra Arts Council

Lahore : Punjab Minister for Information, and Culture, Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan has said that transparency in every sector is the top priority of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, which will be maintained at any cost.

Addressing the officers of Al-Hamra Arts Council here on Tuesday, the minister said that the Punjab government intends to provide quality and positive entertainment to the people of Punjab.

He urged the officers to live up to the people’s expectation vis-à-vis promotion of arts and culture in the province through honesty and hard work. The Al-Hamra platform, he insisted, should be used to promote the culture of family drama that people can watch together with their families.

Acknowledging the performance of Al-Hamra Arts Council, Chohan however urged the officers to put in more efforts and exploit latest technology to produce even better results.

He also introduced the newly-appointed executive director of Al-Hamra Arts Council, Athar Ali Khan to the officers on this occasion.

In his remarks, Khan endorsed the minister’s policies vowing that transparency will be maintained in all sectors in accordance with the incumbent government’s vision. “People want to see the cultural beauty. We will certainly take advantage of your experience for promotion of arts and culture in the province”, he maintained. He further said “Instead of promoting ordinary entertainment, we should work to highlight our superior values through arts and culture”.

Earlier, the director arts and culture Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi, deputy director administration, Aftab Ahmad Ansari, and deputy director Al-Hamra Arts and Cultural Complex, Naveed Bukhari briefed the minister and the executive director on council affairs.
