No caretaker CM could be nominated by provincial governts

Lahore : Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (R) Nasir ul Mulk will take oath today at President House as the federal govt and national assembly dissolved at 12 AM as the June 1st started after completing its tenure of 5 years on 31 May .

This was PML-N’s first government which completed its constitutional tenure despite the fact it came into power 3 times in the history of the country. But still yet to complete constitutional tenure by any Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The last two assemblies completed its tenure and there was a chance for the premiers Yosaf Raza Gilani and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to complete their constitutional tenure but both were disqualified by the superior courts .

Meanwhile ; a new bad tradition was also set the political governments as no caretaker chief minister could be nominated in any province .

PTI agreed with the name of Manzoor Afridi presented by opposition in KPK and his announcement was made but later ruling party backed out from his nomination.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and opposition leader Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed jointly announced the name Nasir Saeed Khosa ,the former chief secretary and brother of Justice Asif Saeed Khosa but later PTI withdrew his name and said it was a mistake on the other side ruling party PML-N excused to any further consultation in this regard.

In Sindh ,CM Murad Ali Shah and opposition Leader Kh Izhar held a series of meeting but they could not agreed upon any name.

Same situation was observed in Balochistan where ruling coalition partners could not agreed on any single name as they have a number of candidates for caretaker CM. A highly undemocratic move was launched by Minister Home Sarfraz Bugti who presented a resolution in the provincial assembly for delaying the elections reasoning of hot weather .
