Lahore : Chief of Muslim League Zia Ijaz ul Haq called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi at their residence here today (Tuesday).
During the meeting, in which Ch Shafay Hussain was also present, views were exchanged about alliance of the Muslim Leaguers and the next general election besides political situation prevailing in the country.
Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that alliance of the Muslim Leaguers is essential and welcome, Pakistan Muslim League will fully participate in the next elections for which political and electoral activities have already been started.
He said that regarding holding of elections in fair, transparent and impartial manner the Election Commission should take political parties into confidence. He said that caretaker Prime Minister should be such on which no political party has any objection whereas it is essential that caretaker Chief Minister Punjab should also be neutral personality.
