Mock exercise of rescue in floods conducted at Rasul Barrage

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : Mock exercise of ‘relief and rescue’ operation in flash floods was conducted at Rasul Barrage. Teams from all district departments demonstrated their performance. Rescue 1122 team rescued persons from river using life jackets and boats. It was stunning operation. Health and livestock departments established camps for administering first medical aid to persons and treatment of animals.

Deputy Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali supervised the exercise and examined performance of departments. He inspected fitness of rescue relief equipment and machinery.

He praised skills of the rescue team demonstrated during the exercise. DC however stressed on the participants for further improving their performance and maintenance of equipment.

He said it is not possible for them to stop natural calamities but with quick response and good management they could reduce devastation.

Assistant Commissioners of all three sub divisions of the district were accompanying him.
