FPCCI Signed MoU with Guangzhou General Chamber,China for Trade Promotion

Lahore : Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Vice President& Regional Chairman Ch. Arfan Yousaf has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce during visit of FPCCI Delegation to Canton Fair Guangzhou.

The MoU was signed by Vice President and Regional Chairman FPCCI, Ch. Arfan Yousaf and President Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce President (GGCI)MR.XUN ZHENYING.

The purpose of signing MoU was regular facilitation of FPCCI Delegation to Canton Fair and establishing long term, sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of trade & research, industrial linkages, trainings, delegation and Exhibitions, education and employment opportunities between the two Chambers.

Ch. Arfan Yousaf said Pakistan and People Republic of China are enjoying very cordial relationship with each other. Both countries have been cooperating in various fields of interest and collaborating to enjoy the relations. Pak China should jointly establishment of Industrial Estates, SEZs, Industrial cluster; Cottage Industries. He highlighted the opportunities of investment in Energy and value addition unites and added both countries have been already exploring the prospects of enhanced bilateral cooperation through joint economic projects in the areas such as energy, power, railways, telecommunications and IT under China – Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Dr. Ali Ahmed Arain, Consul General of Pakistan in People’s Republic of China said China is Pakistan’s largest trading partner; and Pakistan is China’s second largest trading partner in South Asia. He said Pakistani Consulate General in China is fully focused for trade promotion and FPCCI will be in loop.

Addressing to the members of the FPCCI, President Guangzhou General Chamber of Commerce President Mr. Xun Zhenying, said Chinese are interested for large scale investments in Pakistan, He said FPCCI should provide the details about the area and about the potential partners. He said Pakistani products are best to the quality and Chinese like to use them. There is a need to introduced Pakistani products in Chinese market for this FPCCI will be taken on board and Guangzhou Chamber will play its productive role.

The President further said there is big potential for leather industry which should be explored. He said exchange of trade delegations and timely dissemination of trade and investment-related information can help boost two-way trade. He appreciated role of FPCCI for economic development of the Country and said economic globalization and regional integration has provided enormous opportunities for further cooperation between China and Pakistan.

FPCCI Regional Chairman Ch.Arfan said Pakistan is rapidly growing economy, fifth largest consumer market in the world with 200 million populations while our Chemical Industry is continuously flourishing sector which highlights the scope of business in the sector. China Pakistan Economic Corridor and business friendly investment policies have turned Pakistan into a best trade and investment destination. He was hopeful that Chinese and Indian businessmen will further strengthen trade & economic ties with Pakistan through joint ventures
