Lahore : Newly appointed Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen has vowed to introduce best model of management and promote the culture of harmony and respect in the university.
She was chairing a meeting of university officials after giving joining as vice chancellor.
Addressing the meeting, Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen vowed to improve academic standard of the university at par with world’s best universities.
Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen is the first-ever woman vice chancellor in the 136 years old history of Punjab University. She has earned prestigious professorship of Prince Claus Royal Chair 2006-2007 in the area of Development and Equity at University of Utrecht, Netherlands.
She did her post doc from University of Texas at Austin, USA in 2008 on the scholarship awarded by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
She did her PhD from Stirling University, Scotland, UK in 1999 on Central Overseas Training Scholarship awarded by the Government of Pakistan. Dr Jabeen did her MPA from University of Southern California in 1995 and also did her MPA from Department of Administrative Sciences, Punjab University in 1983.
She also secured gold medals in B.A. and .FA.
Prof Dr Nasira Jabeen started his career by joining Punjab University as lecturer in 1984. She is also Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences and Director Institute of Administrative Sciences.
She is also president and member of various academic and professional bodies.
