Lahore : Provincial Minister For HR&MA Khalil Tahir Sandhu participated in a ceremony held at Deputy Commissioner Office of Rawalpindi to distribute Scholarship’s cheques among brilliant students from minorities from various districts of the Rawalpindi Division.
According to the details 22 students of intermediate, graduation and professional studies from Jehlum, Goujar Khan, and Chakwal won the cash prize worth of a total 06 Lac and 30 thousand.
While addressing the ceremony Minister HR&MA said that in order to encourage and express solidarity with minority students, Punjab Government has taken this initiative under which scholarships are being distributed among them twice a year worth of a total 07 Crore.
He said that constitution of Pakistan gives equal rights to minorities as white portion in Pakistani flag depicts their presence. Minister added that it was due to the revolutionary steps taken by Chief Minister Punjab that today there are 04 Assistant commissioners and 5187 officers serving in 16 and 17 grade including 89 Sub Inspectors from Minorities.
Auspicious students thanked to Punjab Government and assured to the Minister that they will work hard to bring glory to their family and homeland. ADC Finance & Planning Rao Atif Raza, Deputy Director Colleges Sher Ahmed Satti, Minority students and their parents were present at this moment.
