FIA declares former DIG Gilgit Junaid Arshad an absconder

Lahore : Federal Investigation Agency has declared former DIG Gilgit Junaid Arshad an absconder in a case to blackmail his former wife by uploading her ‘objectionable’ pictures on social media.

DIG GB Junaid Arshad was accused of blackmailing his former wife Ayesha Subhani with the help of his friend Danish Ghani, according to the complaint filed by the wife.

Sources said that the suspect did not present himself despite the summons issued to him.

A raid was carried out for Arshad’s arrest but he already obtained a pre-arrest bail.

The case was registered by the FIA cyber-crime wing.

Gilgit-Baltistan police DIG crime branch Syed Junaid Arshad has been suspended for his alleged involvement in cyber crime, local media reported.

Ayesha Subhani, the ex-wife of the DIG registered a FIR in June .

DIG’s ex-wife already moved the Supreme Court in August 2017, seeking cancellation of his bail granted him by the GB Chief Court.
