7 dead including 4 cops 31 injured in a bomb blast at Raiwind

Lahore : At Least 7 dead including 4 cops and 31 injured including 7 cops in a heavy blast near police check post at Raiwind Tablighi Markaz , a close place to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif ‘s residence Jati umra whom’s security has been minimized after his disqualification. ASP raiwind Zubair Nazir also among the injured who were being treated at DHQ Hospital, raiwind.

SP Sadr Omar Farooq has confirmed that cops injured in the blast but he did not explain either it was a planted bomb blast or a suicide attack.

The injured are being taken to nearby hospital for treatment. State Television has claimed the injurd toll was 20 including 7 cops whereas Geo News has claimed death of a man in this blast.

The Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the blast near the police check post at Raiwind Road.

The Chief Minister has sought a report from Inspector General Police Punjab and directed to investigate the matter.

The Chief Minister expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives including police officials in the blast.

The Chief Minister paid homage to the great sacrifices of martyrs and extended sympathies to the bereaved families. He has directed the administration that best treatment facilities should be provided to the injured police officials and other people. He said that the more this incident of terrorism is condemned the less it would be.

He said that martyrs are our heroes. He said that the great sacrifices of martyrs will not go waste and terrorists and their facilitators will be taken to task.
