83 Hindu couples entered into wedlock in combined marriages ceremony

Lahore : Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council has urged to promote the message of peace and love for ensuring national development.
Addressing to the 10th annual combined marriages ceremony, organized by Pakistan Hindu Council, he said that patriotic Hindu community is promoting the Pakistan Ideology and Quaid-e-Azam ‘s vision of tolerant, peaceful, progressive and prosperous Pakistan.
On the occasion, 83 Hindu couples also entered into wedlock.
Dr Ramesh Vankwani, terming 10th combined marriages ceremony a great success, said that contributions of Pakistani Hindu community for national development are countless.
Dr Ramesh, while expressing his sincere wishes to newly-wed couples, said that supporting someone to raise the family is in fact a very good deed.
He also mentioned various charity activities being managed by Pakistan Hindu Council. He said that currently one thousand deserving students are studying in the PHC-run sixteen schools. Two hundred students succeed to get educational scholarships, he told.
Dr Ramesh further informed that the Council is also providing sewing machines to widows and motorcycle rickshaws to jobless people to earn livelihood with honor and dignity.
He also hoped expanding operations of ambulances throughout the country.  On the occasion, financial support was also provided to the couples to start a new life.
Dr Ramesh Vankwani also paid complements to the media for showing positive image of Pakistan. He said that today international community is witnessed that Non-Muslims in Pakistan are independent to  celebrate socio-religious events.  Paying tribute to philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi late, he said that those who dedicates their entire life for serving humanity, can never be forgotten.
He lauded the participation by his daughter to the combined marriages ceremony. He also acknowledged the participation of various national social and political personalities including Farooq Sattar and Khalil Sindhu.
Dr Ramesh said that colorful cultural ceremony also promotes interfaith harmony and national integrity.
