Nawaz Sharif or his nominee will be next PM: Talal Chaudhry

Lahore : Minister of State for Interior Talal Badar Chaudhry Wednesday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would return to power in the next general election with Nawaz Sharif or his nominee as the next prime minister.

Addressing a news conference here at Circuit House, he said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had fought terrorism successfully and also put the country on road to progress and prosperity.

Despite those positive achievements, he said, some elements were hatching conspiracies to punish him for launching mega projects such as China Pakistan Economic Corridor, motorways, etc.

He said credit also went to Nawaz Sharif for restoring judiciary. Dispensation of justice would be another agenda of the PML-N manifesto during the next general election, he said.The popularity of Nawaz Sharif was still unchallenged despite his disqualification, he said.

He said the PML-N would introduce reforms in judicial system in addition to restoring the sanctity of vote. There was need for removing hurdles in the way of justice he said, adding, “In our prevailing judicial system, a grandfather files a case and his grandson appears in the court.”

He said, “We respect judiciary and will continue to do so despite reservations in some cases.” He condemned the criticism of opposition in the Zainab murder case and said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had made  untiring efforts to nab her murderer.

Talal said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh governments should follow the Punjab chief minister’s footprints and apprehend the murderers of Asma and Naqeeb.

He said Shahbaz Sharif had introduced revolutionary changes in all spheres of life, including health and education, and he  would continue to serve the masses with the same spirit in future.

He said the PML-N’s opponents had badly failed in arresting dengue in KP, how they could tackle the herculean challenges being faced by the country.

The minister said Nawaz Sharif had been entangled in various cases by the National Accountability Bureau and the nation had been waiting for their judicious decision. If justice were not done, it would be bad for the system, he added.

Commenting on the resignations of PTI parliamentarians, he said the resignations were lying with someone else. Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) had also tendered fake resignations, he added.

He said the Senate and general elections would be held on time and the PML-N would clean sweep. Regarding the public meeting of Nawaz Sharif in Jaranwala, Talal said it would be a record in the political history of Pakistan. People would attend the meeting in large number to repose their confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, he added.

He said district and Tehsil level organizations of the PML-N were united and would participate in the meeting as one body. PML-N District President Mian Qasim Farooq was also present on the occasion.
