Syed Raza Ali attends the 2nd Convocation of Government Post Graduate College for Women ShadBagh

Lahore : Provincial Minister Higher Education Syed Raza Ali Gillani said that the department is focusing on providing equal opportunities of higher education to both male and female students.

The Minister was addressing the 2nd Convocation of Government Post Graduate College for Women ShadBagh here on Monday.

Members of National and Provincial Assemblies, Director Colleges Lahore, The Principal, Teachers and a large number of students were present in the Auditorium.

Honorable guests also distributed certificates and medals to students who had significant achievements in curriculum activities.

A total of 254 shining students of Masters and Graduation received degrees and medal in the convocation. 22 most outstanding girls received gold medals, 10 were given role of honor for their achievements in co-curriculum activities while 5 students received role of honor for their curricular based achievements.

A total of 204 students were awarded Certificates of Distinction in the convention. There were 15 Master degree and 239 Graduation students who received degrees in the 2nd convocation.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister for Higher Education said that in the past years, our female students have secured maximum positions in all board and university exams and proved that they are equally capable of performing extraordinary, he added.

The Minister said that government is also focusing on providing equal opportunities to girls and boys in their professional growth. Syed Raza Ali Gillani said that all of us should come forward and do our best to make Pakistan a prosperous country.

He said that the government is giving special attention to the education of women with this vision that this education will help train generations to come. He said that women’s education is very important to determine the right direction of society.

Syed Raza Ali Gillani said that the education of girls is as important as educating boys. He said that Islam first and foremost message was to acquire knowledge. Nations around the world who value education, research and hard work, are on the top in the ladder of success.

The minister advised the successful students receiving degrees to share their knowledge with their peer groups and society.  He said that the actual purpose of education is to do something for betterment of society.

Mr. Gillani said that if we continue to work hard and maintained the importance of education it is not far away when Pakistan will be among world most successful countries.

He said that Pakistan’s future is definitely bright in the presence of such talented and capable youth.
