Sleep Research Centre set up at LGH

Lahore : With the aim to provide better medical facilities to the masses, “Sleep Research Centre “has been established where latest machinery would also be provided to make research and provide treatment on snoring and problems of breathing.

Talking in this regard, Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab expressed his satisfaction and told that this centre would work under the supervision of Director Dr. Mohammad Irfan Malik who have worked hard on this project.

He said that presently it is time of research and on who would work hard in this field would survive and will get its fruit as well.

Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that research is a very vast field and all should work with dedication and commitment for the welfare of common man who approaches the hospital for treatment.

Principal PGMI said that creation of Sleep Research Centre is a positive step which be not only for Lahore General Hospital but will be good omen for the Punjab Government.

He said that already it was very costly treatment in the private sector which was not affordable for common man but early diagnosis and low cost treatment would be possible as per the policy of the government.

Talking in this regard Dr. Muhammad Irfan Malik told the reasons and aspects of snoring which is caused due to abnormal functioning of nose and throat and breath is not passed normally.

He told that out of 10 people 3 male and 2 female are caught of snoring problem.

Dr. Shahid Mukhtar, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Waheed and Dr. Ahsan Noman also spoke on this topic and highlighted the establishment of Sleep Research Centre and its benefits for the general public.
