PFA Bans sale of all kind of Choran in province

Lahore : Scientific Panel of Punjab Authority Food (PFA) has imposed ban on preparation and sale of all kind of Choran (a flavored, chemically treated edible salt)

The Scientific Panel took this decision after research found Choran dangerous for health. While speaking regarding ban on Choran, Director General PFA Noor ul Amin Mengal said that the Non Food Grade Tartaric Acid is found in the Choran which can cause stomach and other diseases.

He said that it is mostly eaten by children who are most affected by the diseases caused by it. The ban has been imposed as per PFA Act 2011, he said. this decision was taken for the betterment of health of general public.

DG PFA also warned the people linked with its business including preparation and selling to stop making and selling it. He also ordered them to abandon their business, other wise strict action will be taken against them.
