Lahore : General Hospital is the only institution of the province whose nurses have been awarded twice in the current year by appreciation certificates and special awards by the DG Nursing.
Keeping in view the discipline, best performance, patient friendly behavior and courteous attitude DG Nursing Kausar Parveen has distributed these certificates among 14 nurses of LGH where Professor of Neuro Surgery Prof. Dr. Khalid Mahmood specially attended while Controller Nursing Exam Zubaida Ishaque, AMS Nursing Dr. Shabnam Gulzar, Nursing Supdt. Razia Bano and a large number of nurses were present.
Talking on this occasion, Director General Nursing said that this certificate would the part of ACRs of the concerned nurses so that they can be benefitted by them for the next promotion.
Prof. Khalid Mahmood said that nursing is sacred profession and those who are working for this noble cause are the agents of nature for the best purpose of serving the ailing humanity.
He said that during the present time when no one has time to look after their dear ones these nurses serve them day and night.
Prof. Khalid Mahmood said that sometime these nurses also become the victim of the disease from the patients but they continue to work for their betterment and also offer their own lives.
He referred the dengue war of 2011 when 2nd student nurse of Lahore General Hospital Asma Kanwal sacrificed her life which can be followed by her predecessors as well.
He said that Asma Kanwal was the Florence Nightingale of Pakistan and a role model for all the nurses.
Prof. Khalid Mahmood said that for the first time in Punjab nurses are being sent abroad and its credit goes to Chief Minister Punjab Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif who has given a new vision to the health sector and patients would also enjoy its fruit.
On this occasion 14 nurses were given the appreciation certificates who expressed determination that they would continue their efforts and perform duty with more zeal and fervor in the Lahore General Hospital.
Those who got these certificates include Nasira Latif, Fauzia Manzoor, Gulshan Rafique, Ruban Emonile, Saba Qamar, Ayesha Tariq, Meena Jamil, Shakeela Nawab, Mafia Ramzan, Sonia Abbas, Saadia Kiran, Sidra Noor, Easter Arif and Sania Abdur Rehman.
