Pakistan outclassed England in the semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2017

Lahore : Pakistan completely outclassed the English side at Cardiff as they convincingly won the semifinal of ICC Champions Trophy by 8 wickets. Pakistan’s Muhammad Amir got unfit before the match and Ruman Raees was given a chance to prove his bowling skills. Skipper Sarfraz Ahmad won the toss and invited England to bat first,England openers gave good stand and made 50 in first 10 overs but later English batting line was completely destroyed by some really fine bowling from Pakistani bowlers and they could not given a good total on the board to impress the opposition as the whole team got out for 211 in 49.5 overs..

Pakistan chased the required target of 212 runs by two wickets in 37.1 overs.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated Pakistan cricket team on its splendid victory against England in semi final of Champions Trophy.

In a felicitation message to caption and management of national cricket team, the Chief Minister said that Pakistani players have won the hearts of the nation by displaying outstanding performance.

He said that opening batsman Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman have played an important role in the victory through best batting and the players have given an excellent gift to the nation by winning semi final in the holy month of Ramadan.

Shahbaz Sharif said that reaching in final by defeating England in semi final at its home ground is a great success. He said that players have displayed wonderful performance in all fields and defeated England and added that the victory of Pakistani cricket team in semi final of Champions Trophy is the result of best teamwork.

He said the players have proved that hard work, devotion and steadfastness is the only guarantee to success and if the hearts are imbued with the spirit of enthusiasm and determination, the hard work definitely bears fruit.

The Chief Minister expressed the hope that Pakistani cricket team will also get victory by playing with the same spirit and hard work in the final.
