The rulers want the JIT to work as per their wishes : Liaqat Baloch

Lahore : Secretary General,  Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had been compelled to appear before the JIT because he had rejected the Opposition’s TOR’s for Panama leaks probe and the government had not given a positive reply to the letter of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in this regard.

He was speaking at an Iftar dinner hosted by the JI Punjab for the Ulema, Mashikh and senior journalists, on Tuesday.

Liaqat Baloch said the people who had distributed sweets on the decision of the Supreme Court had now started mudslinging on the JIT and were leveling allegations on its members in order to make them controversial. He said that the rulers wanted the JIT to hold the enquiry according to their wishes. The rulers also desired a decision of their liking from the Supreme Court.

He said that the government threats to the JIT were an insult to the accountability and judicial system of the country. He said the nation wanted to weed out corruption but the rulers considered themselves above the law and not accountable to anyone.

Liaqat Baloch said that the religious forces in the country would have to forge unity in their ranks for bringing forth a responsible and honest leadership in the 2018 elections.
