Kh Ahmad Hassan gives Rs. One million each to 16 families of Parachute Colony

Lahore : Owners of 16 dwelling units of Parachute Colony, whose houses had been acquired for construction of Lahore Orange Line Metro Train’s track, received vouchers of compensation amounting to a total of Rs. 11.6 million on Monday.

Chairman of the steering committee for the project Kh. Ahmad Hassan presented a voucher worth Rs. One million to each of the 16 families, under special relief package of the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for this purpose. The owners were also given cost of structure to their houses.

Chief Engineer LDA Asrar Saeed, Project Director Hammad Ul Hassan and other officials concerned were present at this occasion.

After receipt of compensation by these families, work for construction of elevated track of Orange Line Metro Train in this area will be geared up and transportation of precast transoms and U-tub girders from G.T. Road to Nichelson Road, Mecleod Road and other areas will also be facilitated.

Earlier, Kh. Ahmad Haassan visited Islam Park station of the metro train where Chinese contractor CR-NORINCO has been carrying out electrical and mechanical works. Installation of escalators at site is near completion.

So far two-thirds of the civil work on Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project has been completed.

Meanwhile ; Staff of Town Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority demolished five shops at PECO Road, Township, which had been constructed in violation of building regulations, on Monday.
