Wildlife department launched “Urial Trophy Hunting Program” for foreign hunters

Lahore : Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan has said that the department has launched “Urial Trophy Hunting Program” for foreign hunters in salt range of the province. He said that department has presented 16 Urial trophies for foreign hunters this year.

While talking to the media men, DG W&P said that 6 Urial trophies have been hunted so far and 103000 US dollars have been received. He said that all 6 hunters, including a woman, belonged to United States.

Discussing details, DG Wildlife said that Mark Vernon Peterson hunted trophy in Western Jhelum Community Based Organization (CBO) having size 28 inches, Eric John Schlukebir hunted in Wildlife Lovers CBO having size 27.5 inches, John Michael Colglazier hunted in Kallar Kahar CBO having size 27 inches, Mrs. Pamela Suzanne Atwood hunted in Potohar CBO having  size 28.5 inches, Stanford Hooper Atwood hunted in Kallar Kahar CBO having size 30.5 inches and James Mckanzie Sims hunted in Kala Bagh CBO. He said that Stanford Hooper Atwood remained first so far as he hunted Urial trophy having size 30.5 inches.

DG Wildlife said that 80 percent of receipt amount from Urial Trophy Hunting Program will be distributed to the concerned CBO and the management of said CBO will have to spend the amount on the betterment of area, social work and activities regarding protection and conservation of Urial, while 20 percent of the amount will be deposited in government treasury. He said that an amount of 2 lakh 68 thousand US dollars foreign exchange will be obtained, if 16 trophies hunted.
