ACE Sargodha arrested two District Sports Officers and a junior clerk

Lahore : Anti Corruption Establishment Sargodha has arrested two District Sports Officers and a junior clerk of Sports Department on account of corruption worth millions of rupees and expanded the scope of its investigation.

According to the details, Regional Director Anti Corruption Sargodha Asim Raza, on information, initiated inquiry and found embezzlement of millions of rupees in financial matters of Sargodha Stadium. Regional Director himself visited Sargodha Stadium and checked the relevant record. Assistant Director Anti Corruption Sargodha Israr Hussain Qazim was assigned to probe the matter.

It was disclosed that District Sports Officers Khalid Mehmood Bhatti and Zaheer Ahmed have embezzled millions of rupees in connivance with Junior Clerk Muhammad Nawaz Naswana, Zahir Ahmed, Rana Hammad, Tashakkar Iqbal Khan and other staff of the sports office.

A case was registered in PS Anti Corruption Sargodha against District Sports Officers Khalid Memhood Bhatti and Zaheer Ahmed and Junior Clerk Muhammad Nawaz Naswana and two members interrogation team comprising Assistant Director Monitoring Israr Hussain and Circle Officer Anti Corruption Malik Tariq was constirute to probe further.

The interrogation team held District Sports Officers Zaheer Ahmed and Khalid Mehmood Bhatti and Junior Clerk Muhammad Nawaz Naswana responsible for embezzlement worth millions of rupees and requested to approve judicial action against the accused.

After approval of judicial action, AC Anti Corruption Israr Hussain Qazim and Malik Tariq arrested District Sports Officer Sargodha Khalid Mehmood Bhatti, District Sports Officer Zaheer Ahmed and Junior Clerk Muhammad Nawaz Naswana today and sent them to lock up.

Director General Anti Corruption Punjab Brig. (R) Muzaffar Ali Ranjha has felicitated the efforts of Anti Corruption Sargodha and categorically stated that loop against corrupt mafia is being tightened and Anti Corruption staff has been directed not to spare any corrupt official irrespective of his position and authority. All the officials obtaining government service should held answerable before law and no discrimination would be granted to any profession or section, warned DG ACE.
