Dealers Vehicles Registration System launched in Faisalabad

Lahore : Dealer Vehicle Registration System has been launched here at Faisalabad for providing the facilities to the citizens in connection with registration of vehicles in speedy transparent.

A launching ceremony was held at Municipal Corporation Hall in which Provincial
Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan was chief guest.

Parliamentarians Haji Akram Ansari, Begum Khalida Mansoor, Muhammad Nawaz Malik, Sh. Ejaz Ahmad, Haji Ilyas Ansari, Faqir Hussain Dogar,Dr. Najma Afzal, Senior Member SMU Salman Sufi, Secretary Excise & Taxation Dr. Ahmad Bilal, DG Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal, Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani, Mayor Municipal Corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik, Chairman District Council Ch. Zahid Nazir and Addl. DG Excise Masud-ul-Haq were also participated in the launching ceremony.
While Director Excise Ahmad Saeed, officers of Excise department,vehicle dealers, traders, local bodies representatives and large number of citizens were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony Provincial Minister for Law said that Punjab govt.
has taken another revolutionary step by launching this revolutionary system of dealer vehicles registration which is valuable innovation and bright future of the nation for eliminating applied for culture,fake dealers, illegal/bogus number plates and different kinds of crimes committed through applied for vehicles. He congratulated the Senior Member of CM Special Monitoring Unit Salman Sufi, Excise & Taxation Department Punjab and their entire team on devising and launching of most important and beneficial system of registration of vehicles which is remarkable and land mark step for registration of vehicle through dealers as a public private partnerships for confidence building between govt. and private entrepreneurs which is policy of Punjab govt. under the leadership of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He said that due to this system the agent mafia and middlemen would become a part of history who were usurping billions of rupees of the nation and this new system will result in elimination of
corruption and delaying tact of Excise Department.

Rana Sanaullah Khan urged upon the dealers that they should come forward for the
success of this system play their effective role for checking the heinous business of forgers in this regard and Punjab govt. would extend all out support for them.

Secretary Excise & Taxation Dr.Ahmed Bilal while giving briefing highlighted the performance of the department and said that Dealer Vehicle Registration System such a remarkable step of govt. which was like to written with golden word so as this was a real objective to repose confidence on private entrepreneurs and would help in promote best culture for tax paying and receiving.

He said that the Excise Department believed in providing friendly public service and now the 90 % departmental working had been made computerized. He disclosed that the security featured number plates and registration computerized cards would be introduced by the department besides launching the system of universal registration number of the vehicles in the Punjab.

He said that DVRS would help strengthen the registration system of the vehicle and dealer would charge Rs.2000 fee for a car/commercial vehicle and Rs.500 for a motorcycle from the customer and would issue number plate on the spot. He said that under the new system, corruption free and safe produce of sale and purchase of the vehicle would be introduced in Punjab and all problems faced by the citizens in registration of vehicle would be eliminated.

Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani said that DVRS was a part of that chain that had been introduced for ensuring the prompt service delivery, transparency, good governance and improving the departmental performance for the facility of the public. He said that computerized monitoring and working was successfully running in education, health and other departments besides introducing Land Record Management Information System and E Credit scheme for the farmers. He vowed that this system would be made successful and the vehicle dealers would be provided all out facilities in this regard.

Senior Member SMU Salman Sufi said CM Special Monitoring Unit in collaboration with Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department has introduced comprehensive reform for citizen facilitation as a part of the Transport Sahulat Programme. He said that this system actually was a clear message of CM Punjab for good governance and corruption free system. He informed 22 dealers have been licensed to provide Dealer Vehicle Registration System facility to citizens in Punjab and more than 10000 vehicles had been registered under this system up till now.

Salman Sufi informed that after Lahore DVRS has been expanded Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan,Rawalpindi and Multan districts and its scope would be expended upto entire Punjab province very soon. He said that 7 licenses were being
given to the vehicle dealers under this system by launching at Faisalabad including AS Flour Traders, Sufi Auto Corporation, Fareed Autos Center, Sufi Honda Corporation and Honda Faisalabad while two more dealers Ramzan Motors and Suzuki Canal Motors. He informed DRVS has allowed more than five thousand vehicles both locally manufactured and imported to attain authorized ET & NC registration at the point of
purchase of the vehicles. He said DVRS has devised to facilitate the registration of vehicles and issuance of number plates to the customers at the dealership on the point of sale.

Parliamentarians  said that this land mark initiative is a positive step for improved
law enforcement. They appreciated the revolutionary step of CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for launching Dealer Vehicle Registration System in Faisalabad.

Mayor Municipal Corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik and Chairman District Council Ch. Zahid Nazir said the new system of vehicle registration will eliminate fake numbers plates. They said real dealers would become prominent under the DVRS. They thanked the CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for introducing innovative and useful system of vehicle registration.
Later, Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan launched DVRS by clicking a button of computer and distributed certificates among the registered vehicle dealers. He also gave away the shields to the officers who contributed for devising and launching this system.
