A delegation of Nigerian journalists visit Punjab University

Lahore : Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Mueen Nasir has said that Pakistan’s war on terror has met with extra-ordinary success and now situation in Pakistan is as normal as it could be in any other country.

He was talking to a media delegation consisting of journalists from Nigeria here on Friday. Dean Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences Prof Dr Zakria Zakir, Mr Iyobosa Rex Uwugiaren, General Editor Leadership Newspaper Group, Mrs Raliat Oyinyioza Abdulazeez Yusuf, Research and Development/foreign desk editor and  Ahmed Olanrewaju Ambali, reporter Nigerian Television Authority were present.

Talking to the Nigerian journalists, the VC said that Pakistan’s Army, leadership and civilians had given so many sacrifices to root out the menace of terrorism. He said that the situation had improved manifold in Pakistan however the country was victim of negative propaganda.

He said that a large number of foreign tourists would be coming to Pakistan soon. He stressed the need to enhance students and faculty members exchange programmes between the two countries to promote bilateral relations.

Iyobosa Rex said that Pakistan and Nigeria were facing terrorism and we were visiting Pakistan to understand Pakistan’s narrative and measures to fight terrorism. He said that they were very much inspired by the environment and the people of Pakistan. He said that both countries enjoyed good relations which should be promoted further.
