Punjab is an exemplary province with regard to legislation : Rana Sana

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah has said that continuity of democracy is basis of development of the country. He said that Punjab is an exemplary province with regard to legislation and other provinces can also benefit from it. He said that public governments were removed undemocratically in the past.

He said that sit-ins, lockdown, strikes, long march, court fight are such non-welfare tactics which effect government performance.

He expressed these views while talking to a 35-member inter-parliamentary delegation currently on two days visit to Lahore, at 90 Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam Lahore, here today. The delegation was led by Country Head Democracy Reporting International, Hassan Nasir Mir Bahar. Provincial Ministers Ayyub Khan, Jahangir Khanzada, Zakia Shahnawaz and Members Provincial Assembly were also present on the occasion.

Rana Sanaullah Khan said that all the assemblies of Pakistan are units of the federation. He said that federation and democracy will strengthen due to better understanding among elected representatives. He said that the performance of steering committees of Punjab is best however there is a need of further improvement.

He said that political elements remain ahead in toppling government or stopping it working. He said that the visit of inter-parliamentary delegation is a appreciable step of DRI. Later, members of delegation also expressed their views. They gave proposals for improvement parliamentary system and also discussed some problems.

The Law Minister welcomed positive suggestions and promised to take resolvable problems to Chief Minister.
