At last Punjab chief minister take notice of fake stents’s use at Mayo Hospital

Lahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting here today to review in detail the matter of implantation of fake stents in heart patients in Mayo Hospital Lahore. He ordered an inquiry into the matter and constituted a committee headed by Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection Team. He took notice of the matter and ordered the committee to start work from today, look into every aspect of the matter and submit a report within seven days.

Shahbaz Sharif directed strict implementation of ban on entry of unregistered vendors in the hospitals and said that no complaint should be received in this regard in future. He said that model of Punjab Institute of Cardiology should be ensured by all the hospitals regarding stents implantation.

Provincial Minister for Specialized Health and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education, Additional IG Special Branch and CEO Punjab Institute of Cardiology also attended the meeting while CEO Drug Regulatory Authority Pakistan and Director Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology participating in the meeting through video link.
