Motorway Police adopts measures to avoid fog-related incidents

Lahore : The National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) have started adopting extra-ordinary preventive measures to avoid fog-related incidents & accidents. While driving in the extreme conditions we can avoid many untoward incidents/accidents by adopting road safety measures. This is said Syed Imran Ahmed Shah Spokesman Motorway Police in a press release issued on Friday.

The Motorway Police Spokesman Imran Shah said best travelling time in fog is between 10:00 am to 06:00 pm.   Fog is often a morning or evening weather phenomena, so if possible, avoid driving during these times. Allow More Distance Between Vehicles. Increase your count distance by 5 seconds instead of the normal 2 seconds behind another vehicle. Never rush or speed to get out of the fog.

The Spokesman Imran Shah said use caution at all times. The moisture in the air may continuously collect on the windshield, making it more difficult to see. Adjust the defroster and windshield wiper speed as necessary. He further said during the foggy season people should make their travel plan and try to travel between 10:00 am to 06:00 pm, drive slowly, maintain safe distance, ensure that the fog lights and wipers of their vehicle are in working conditions and before the start of their journey contact Motorway police helpline 130 for guidance about road and weather conditions. He urged motorists to drive carefully on the motorway, observing road safety rules and avoid unnecessary travel during foggy weather. He said the motorists should avoid applying sudden brakes and use fog lights during travelling he added.
