Mandi Bahauddin DCO Muzaffar Sial hands over five Ambulance to in charges of five BHUs

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal): DCO Muzaffar Sial Tuesday handed over five Ambulance vehicles here at District Complex to in charges of five Basic Health Units under Improving Reproductive Maternal and Newborn Health (IRMNH) program.
Speaking on the occasion the DCO said these vehicles will provide service to women of delivery cases.
The function was attended by DHO and other medical officers. He directed that these vehicles service will also be provided to delivery cases taking place in surrounding areas of neighboring BHUs on call. This is great service for women of delivery cases residing in remote areas.

He said other BIUs will also be provided ambulance vehicles when made available by IRMNH program. He said Punjab Government was giving priority to improvement of basic health services in rural area and moving patients to hospital in emergency. Explaining criteria of selecting BHUs for giving vehicles, he said these five BHUs remain open twenty four hours and attend emergent cases. These BHUs include Bhikhi Sharif, Rukan, Charanwala, Harya and Bhowa Hassan.

In another event 49 Laser Land Levelers were provided to farmers through lucky draw under Agriculture Department Subsidy Program. The draw was held at EDO Agriculture office, under supervision of ADC Afzaal Warriach.

Each successful candidate will be paid subsidy of Rs 4, 50000. Speaking on the occasion DCO said these land levelers were being provided to farmers for increasing agriculture productivity. He said a significant amount of irrigation water is lost during its application at the farm due to poor farm designing and unevenness of the fields. Fields that are not level, have uneven crops stand, and this factor reduce yield and poor grain quality. Use of levelers would help farmers leveling fields with desired slope and save their time and conserve water to great extent too.
