4 Railways Police cops punished for harassing women

Lahore : In response to a complaint received by Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW), AIG Pakistan Railways Police has held four women police officials guilty of misconduct on account of disgracing and harassing two young women at Lahore Railway Station.

It may be mentioned that a complaint was lodged with PCSW helpline (1043), regarding verbal and physical abuse, misbehavior and harassment perpetrated by three women police constables and one ASI of Pakistan Railways Police.

Upon fact finding and enquiry into the complaint, Chairperson PCSW was informed that four officials were found guilty of misuse of official powers and misconduct during the course of their duty. They have been punished by “withholding one annual increment for the period of one year”.
