Punjab Chief Minister orders large scale crackdown against anti-social elements

shahbaz-sharif-law-order-meetingLahore : Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting to review in detail the steps being taken for the protection of life and property of the people of the province.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister ordered large scale crackdown against anti-social elements, criminal persons and proclaimed offenders and said that indiscriminate action should be taken against them and all out steps be taken for safeguarding life and property of the masses.

He said that police will have to perform its duties in an active and vibrant manner for ensuring law & order situation. He said that police will have to come up to the expectations of the people and it is only possible when police force will perform its duties of protection of life and property of the people efficiently.

He said that nothing is important than safeguarding life and property of the masses. He said curbing crime, elimination of criminal elements and protection of life and property of the people is basic responsibility of police and it is need of the hour that police force should discharge its duties in an efficient manner.

Shahbaz Sharif directed to take strict action under law against anti-social elements, criminals and proclaimed offenders and added that senior officials of police should take legal action at the earliest after compiling lists in this regard as dealing with such elements with iron hand is necessary to ensure protection of life and property of the people. He said that police will have to further improve its performance with regard to safeguarding life and property of the masses.

The Chief Minister said that he will personally review the steps being taken for the protection of life and property of the masses regularly and supervise all the steps in this regard. Police officials informed about the progress of incidents occurring in Lahore especially Milliat Park dacoity murder case and looting a vehicle at traffic signal in Garden Town.

CCPO while giving a briefing to the Chief Minister told that progress is being made on these cases and soon the accused will be arrested. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, MPA Jehangir Khanzada, Special Assistant Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and senior police authorities attended the meeting.
