Arabian Delights Wahdat Road fined for poor cleanliness and placing items on the ground

arabian_delights_wahdat_road_lahore_1Lahore : On the directions of DG Food Authority, Samanabad Team imposed a fine of Rs. 23000 to Arabian Delights Wahdat Road for providing dirty floor to workers, presence of spider nets on the walls, dirty freezers and placing items directly on the ground. Ravi Town Team imposed a fine of Rs.2000 each to Ihtisham Nan Shop Habib Gunj and Sadiq General Store Farooq Gunj on not having license of Punjab Food Authority, non presence of issue and expiry date respectively, while sealed Masha Allah Biscuits and Wafers Godown in Nishter Town.

Gulberg Town Team imposed a fine of Rs. 10000 to Shafi Bakery Garhi Shahu on poor physical fitness of workers, non-coverage of food items, wearing jewelry by workers during preparation of food and poor cleanliness arrangements while Aziz Bhatti Town Team sealed Masqat Bakery Harbanspura. Furthermore, Gujranwala Team headed by Director Operations Rafia Haider imposed a heavy fine to Baba Sweets Model Town on non labeling butter and other eatable items, non presence of expiry date, using rotten eggs for making bakery products, selling expired chocolate, poor cleanliness arrangements and improper arrangements for washing utensils.

Expired items were wasted on the spot after sending samples of different eatable items for laboratory testing. Faisalabad Team imposed heavy fine to Ahmed Madina Bakery Hajvery Town, New Madina Sweets and Bakers and Madina Cake Shop, Adil Chaska Point on Samundari Road, Daily Bread Samundari Road, Nageena Sweets Sargodha Road and Habiba Tea Stall on presence of flies and improper arrangements for checking flies, improper labeling on eatable items and non presence of MRD.

Director General Punjab Food Authority Noor ul Amin Mengal has said that target of Punjab Food Authority is healthy Punjab and no effort will be speared for its achievement. Punjab Food Authority has evolved a strategy along with all stakeholders in this regard.

He said that procedure of acquiring food license has been made easy and is being advertised for public guidance. He said that January 31 has been fixed last date for enquiring license. Persons not getting license up to fixed date and those not renewing their license will not be allowed business at any cost.
