Iulian Herciu tells the features of Web of Science

Lahore : Thomson Reuters, which maintains Web of Science, an online subscription-based scientific citation indexing service that provides a comprehensive citation search, has acknowledged progress of Punjab University in the field of research.

Iulian Herciu, Key Account Manager for Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Pakistan, Thomson Reuters has highlighted salient features of research progress of Punjab University while he was addressing a workshop jointly organized by Punjab University Department of Information Management and Thomson Reuters at Al Raazi Hall here on Wednesday.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, deans of various faculties and heads of departments were present on the occasion. Addressing the workshop, Mr Herciu said that due to promotion of research activities in the university, PU had substantially progressed in research and congratulated PU Vice Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran for this achievement. He said that the research papers of PU scientists and researchers were being published in top-ranked research journals and being cited widely. He said that during 2006-2010, as many as 1067 research papers were published while during 2012-2016, 2648 research articles of PU researchers were published which is commendable. Citing various facts and figures, Mr Herciu said that 2015 was the best year for Punjab University in terms of research. He said that BRIC countries were investing huge money in education, research and development.
