Lahore : The professor of Government Science College ,Wahdat Road has been shot dead in a broad daylight. Police have started investigation after sending the body to city morgue.The news about the killing of Professor Rao Altaf sparked violence as the grieved students came out of the classes and started agitation after blocking the Wahdat Road.
The police have told that Rao Altaf was hunted when he was going back after dropping his son to the school.The accused were on a bike who immediately left the scene after killing their target.
Rao Altaf’s sister-in-law had also been killed over enmity. He was serving as a Associate professor in Zoology Department and was very popular among the students for his kind attitude.
Meanwhile; Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the target killing of professor Rao Altaf. He sought report from DIG Ops Dr Haider Ashraf and directed for the immediate arrest of the accused.
The Chief Minister also condoled the bereaved family and assured them justice.
