The real culprit of security leak must be brought forth : Siraj ul Haq

Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Siraj ul Haq has said that the government decision to sack Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid for leaking a news item concerning national security was not acceptable and the real culprit must be brought forth.

“ Pervaiz Rashid does not have the courage to take such a step, therefore, his sacrifice will not hold good”, he remarked while addressing a big rally against corruption at Wahdat Road, at the end of the three day convention of the JI Punjab.siraj-ul-haq-liaqat-baloch-farid-paracha

Sirajul Haq said that the Panama leaks was a tale of corruption and it had the names of the Prime Minister’s children. So, how can the Prime Minster be declared innocent on this score, he asked.

He said the government had wasted six months of the nation but had neither set up a judicial commission nor initiated any enquiry for Panama leaks enquiry. “I would once again urge the Prime Minister to give up intransigence and get ready for the accountability of his person and his children:, he said.

Sirajul Haq said that a tug of war was going on in the federal capital; and added that the key to resolve the issue was now with the Supreme Court. He however urged the Supreme Court not resort to the doctrine of necessity and take a bold decision as the nation was with the Court. He urged the apex court to hear the case from day to day so that all those who had swallowed the hard earned money of the masses were brought to book. He said that another NRO would not be allowed.

The JI chief said that some elements wanted to drag the armed forces in politics in the present situation to serve their selfish ends but they were not sincere with the country or the armed forces. The armed forces were already preoccupied on the country’s eastern and western borders besides in the war against terrorism. Therefore, the nation would not allow the armed forces to be used for any other objective except defense, he said.

Sirajul Haq said that the present or the past rulers should not be under the misconception that they would be allowed to digest the public money they had plundered over the years. He said that every penny of the public money would be accounted for and the plunderers would have to pay for the loot as also their arrogance as they had been thinking that there was none to take them to task.

The nation would also account for the billions collected under the “Qaraz Utaro, Mulk Sanwaro” , “Iqra Surcharge”, and Friends of Pakistan schemes, he added

He said the coterie of the corrupt had taken all state institutions as hostage and added that had the Election Commission implemented the article 62 and 63 of the constitution, the owners of off shore companies, the sugar mafia and those owning properties in London and Dubai would not have returned to the assemblies.  He said if only Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari brought their wealth lying abroad to the country, all the economic problems of the country could be solved. He condemned the terrorist incidents at Quetta, Mardan , Karachi and other places.

Addressing the rally, JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said that the JI would not rest till the serpents of corruption were not crushed.

JI Punjab Chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed, said that the politics of 60s, 70 or even nineties would not work now and the nation could not be befooled by hollow slogans. He said the rulers’ talk of good governance was tantamount to rubbing salt on the wounds of the nation.
