Lahore : CBM Society of Health Managers (CSHM), a representative body of the MBA Health Management Program (MHM) at the Institute of Business Management, Karachi organized a dynamic session on Breast Cancer Awareness in coordination with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre recently. This exclusive event was held at the IoBM premises.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women around the world. Unfortunately Pakistan has the highest incidence of breast cancer in Asia. The medical team from Shaukat Khanum presented a short awareness session on early detection of breast cancer, which can result in a survival rate of over 90%. This was followed by a question and answer session.
The medical consultants from Shaukat Khanum hospital guided the female attendants of the show how to diagnose this lethal disease at its earliest. This session was a real-life changing experience for the participants and their beloved ones so they can further propagate the message through reverse education.
This prestigious event was an incomparable success in the quest to educate women on how they can reduce their risk of developing breast cancer. Invitees included prominent public and private hospitals, welfare trusts, multinational companies, blood banks, doctors, nurses, philanthropists, faculty, students and media. It was headed by Dr. Asima Faisal, HoD, MHM Program and supported by, Dr. Shahida Mirza, Faculty, MHM Program, and Dr. Tasmia Abeer Billoo, President, CBM Society of Health Managers.
